It's all about me!

If you'd like to learn more, you've come to the right place.

I actually came on here to correct a spelling mistake, but I realised most of the information was no longer relevant, which ended in a full website revamp. It's funny how life changes, situations and circumstances change, we are often, without knowing, transformed into a whole other person.

In my last bio, you would have read that we lived in New Plymouth, had a daughter, owned a flooring store, and I was embarking on the journey to digitalise my work on mindset and self-growth to help establish an energy balance within, helping people on a larger scale. It's my passion, and I can't let it go.

Reading this, I had a clear memory of what I envisioned and how it might play out, as a loose plan and direction.

The flooring store we created in New Plymouth became so busy that we were very grateful, but we could feel and see it was taking a toll not only on my health but on both of our well-being.

Einstein Said, "The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results."

We constantly push ourselves, just to keep going, just to do more, achieve more, make something of ourselves, and we often don't take the time to step back and see how things make us feel and what effects the world around us can have on us.

So, we sold our business and home, moved back to the Coromandel (where we were both from), and are beginning to find a new start here. Why? Because money is not everything, and life is far too short. MS has taught us a deep appreciation for the fact that nothing is ever certain.  I sometimes have a terrible habit of pressuring myself without realising it, because I had a drive that, until recent years, I wouldn't say I had a healthy way to channel it. I now know it's a deep-seated need and drive to help and serve others. Previously, I may have come across as bossy and controlling, but also kind, caring, and much, much more. MS has given me a different perspective, without it I wouldn't have been given the tools to help to the degree I can now.

Yes, MS can be a real drag.

I saw a t-shirt once that said, "MS gets on my nerves" I still giggle, and another ", I'm not drunk, I have MS."

It is a shitty disease, and I send anyone who is suffering from it my love, but full warning, I love to take lemons and make lemonade. It can be triggering for some.

If you're unfamiliar with MS, it occurs when your Immune System attacks the myelin sheath (coating) around your nerves, leading to misfiring signals, damaged pathways that disrupt basic functions, causing all kinds of drama. All my interpretations, and I am no neurologist, but this is my understanding. MS has different forms; one type is characterised by relapses or attacks, which can bring on or worsen existing symptoms or trigger the onset of new ones, "like a box of chocolates, you never know what you're going to get". Another is progressive, which means you steadily get worse.

There are many theories about what causes it, from a milk allergy and head injury to some virus strains being linked (all of which I had). Recently, they discovered two gut bacteria that seem to be the cause and are, hopefully, a step closer to a cure, but ultimately, it can be devastating. Part of the problem is that no two cases are the same. It depends on which area of the brain or spinal cord is damaged to determine the issues.

Over the years, I have had different issues; I have always been "sickly" from an early age. Retrospectively, there were some indicators, but it is a tough disease to diagnose.

My first major attack that occurred was with my eyes, causing the feeling of Vertigo all the time, and fatigue. The Second major attack was bad; someone with years in the field of MS expressed her opinion as "I didn't know it could get that bad". I lost use of my right side, my face was half frozen, my right arm was gone entirely and half the function of my right leg. I could not swallow or talk properly, even urinating became an issue, not to mention the 10/10 Nerve pain in my back, which felt like burning (you know when you burn yourself and the stinging feeling when it hits the air) in my whole spinal cord.

During this Relapse, the brain damage was so severe that my internal dialogue, "the things you think," shut down, it stopped working, and I had complete internal silence for three whole months. During this time, I functioned well in day-to-day life, but when my thinking returned, I started my mission. I had some big questions that needed answering: "How did I function?" "How did I not die?" "Can you not think and still live?" I knew it was better, more peaceful, but I couldn't explain it. I studied everything I could, mind wide open and curious. You couldn't experience what I have, and not at least dip your toe into other possibilities. I am open to everything. I learnt how to trust my energy and filter what needs filtering. I felt I had cracked it and was eager to help others who were struggling like I was.

I reached out to people, I had an app, I started groups, and I tried with every fibre of my being to help. Then, life got in the way - for the better, as always, but when we're in it, it can feel like the world is against us but as always our unexpected business venture brought us closer, made us stronger an strengthened our communication, not everyone can work with their husband, wife or partner and come out stronger and for that I am forever grateful it taught me to prioritise my mental balance in the toughest of time. It was a great venture that we feel we learnt, thrived, and were rewarded for our efforts, but at what cost? We chose living, health, adventure, time, and peace over pressure.

Now, I have a different title: I am a Mindset Mentor.

I figured out,

We are not our thoughts. We are our energy, and how we treat or use it shapes our reality.

It seems simple, but a lot all at once. I break it into digestible sequences that are easy to understand and digest as we grow. We should not spend all our time feeding energy to our thoughts; this creates an imbalance in the body. As a result, the body creates a situation where you have to listen when you are ill, injured, in shutdown empty mode or in pain.

When things happen in our lives, if we start to see everything as a potential opportunity for growth and use it as if the universe has placed it there for us to learn, our whole lives can change more than we realise.

I can now say that from the outside, it seems I have no physical issues; on the inside, I manage them well. The Symptoms are still there, but have reduced compared to what they were years ago, and I can honestly say I still achieve great feats, and because of the life I have chosen to live, I continuously improve (not overly common with MS). The scarring on my brain has reduced, which isn't overly normal with MS either, and I am a happy camper. Now, the mission is at hand.

I want to help people; I don't want a following as such.

I call in aware, supportive members who are driven to better themselves in a raw, open, and loving way. I am drawn to teach people to find their own answers rather than rely on me as a feel-good drug. I'm not interested in coaching you to train for a race, only to go back to normal when it's over. I want to create lifelong tools you can refer to anytime you need help with different life situations.
